On the Board is an elite fellowship program that prepares high-potential women for leadership roles on corporate boards. Launched in 2013, the program was created to expand women’s board participation by providing board-readiness training, mentoring, and networking resources to female executives.
While women make up the majority of graduates with bachelor’s (57% in 2014) and masters degrees (60% in 2014), and control the majority of consumer spending (75%), their Fortune 500 board representation has remained below 20 percent during this decade.
Co-developed by the George Washington University School of Business (GWSB) and the International Women’s Forum (IWF), the program needed an identity, messaging, and collateral to promote the program, as well as a launch event to welcome the first class of fellows and host thought leaders for a day of discussion around women’s corporate board leadership.
